Any tips for glassing at longer distances?
I'm decent up close but I know I'm missing animals further out on open ground. If you hunt more open terrain, what's actually helped — technique, gear, patience, all of it welcome.

Kevin van MontfoortTodayBiggest thing that helped me was slowing down — scanning a piece of ground in a proper grid instead of sweeping quickly, and resting the binoculars on something solid whenever I can. Sounds obvious but I missed a lot of animals early on simply because I was moving too fast across the terrain.
